We believe that education & the promotion of sustainable practices can help make a difference in people's lives

We are a Danish NGO created by Blanca Argandoña K. and Samuel E. Suárez in June 2019. We are based in Aarhus, Denmark.

The director and board, were inspired by the radical changes the rivers are facing today. The Rivers are under threat everywhere by pollution, mining, and waste. The population around rivers grows and needs water for a healthy environment.

We are a group of environmental volunteers, with the vision of create awareness about

the benefits of a clean nature for the life of the Earth, us humans and overall living species.

Therefore, our focus is on rivers and lakes conservation and recovery, by promoting a

sustainable coexistence between people and their natural surroundings.

Our project is in Huánuco Peru, inspired by the founders come from that area in Perú. There

our work is to support the rural communities and empower them through capacity building,

networking environmental education programs and projects.

Huánuco is a region, one of 24, in central Peru. It is also the name of the capital of the region where the Higueras river has its source.

It is characterized by being a transition region, stretching from the low Andes mountains (la serranía) to the outskirts of the amazonian jungle. Its main river, the Higueras, flows through three quarters of the region before it joins the Huallaga river. The Huallaga river then meets the Marañon river, forming the Amazons river. It has a very rich biodiversity of plants and animals, as a lot of climate regions are found within its boundaries. This makes it a very important region for the survival of the Amazon.

Unfortunately the region is the fifth poorest region of Peru, where 40% of the population lives in poverty and 12% in extreme poverty. There is a generalized lack of education possibilities and basic infrastructure, which results in the local population lacking basic sanitation, education of how to prevent sickness and waste management. They also lack knowledge of alternative consumption and development practices that can increase their standard of living, protect their livelihood from climate change and ensure the environment they depend on is maintained.
